Angelo Carofano and family are owner-operators of Canadian Independent Sod. The family-run business began in 1965, founded by brothers Raymond and Frank Carofano, with their first farm located at Bayview Ave and Hwy 7 in Richmond Hill.
In 1978, the founders of Canadian Independent Sod, Raymond and Frank, moved the operation to our current location at 940 19th Ave in Richmond Hill. They cleared the 65-acre parcel of land and began growing top-quality Kentucky Blue Grass and we haven't stopped since. Today, Canadian Independent Sod, still located in the heart of Richmond Hill, now grows over 500 acres of top-quality Kentucky Blue Grass.
In addition to our sod services, Canadian Independent Sod now also carries and delivers topsoil, triple mix and various aggregate stone products to both the wholesale and retail markets. So drop by our yard and we will be glad to assist you with all of your landscaping and gardening needs.
